'Two Lovers' debuts at Little Theatre

KALAMAZOO--Kalamazoo Film Society presents "Two Lovers," starring Joaquin Phoenix and Gwyneth Paltrow, Friday through Sunday, June 12-14, in the Little Theatre at Western Michigan University.

Show times are 7 and 9:30 p.m. Friday; 4:30, 7 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday; and 2:30 and 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 and $3 for students.

"Two Lovers" is a romantic drama set in New York City. It tells the story of Leonard (Joaquin Phoenix), a brooding and emotionally scarred young man, who meets the sweet and caring Sandra (Vinessa Shaw) in a setup orchestrated by his concerned parents. But, their relationship is challenged when Leonard meets the mysterious and beautiful neighbor, Michelle (Gwyneth Paltrow).

Directed by James Gray, the 2008 film is shown in English. It has a run time of 110 minutes and is rated R for brief drug use, adult language and mature thematic material involving sexuality.

The Little Theatre is located at the corner of Oakland Drive and Oliver Lane on WMU's East Campus. Free off-street parking is available behind the theatre.
