Robert H. Peterson

Robert H. Peterson, a former manager of residence hall facilities for Western Michigan University, died June 12 in Kalamazoo. He was 73.

A native of Escanaba, Mich., he attended WMU and earned his bachelor's and master's degrees. While a student, he was a member of Delta Chi social fraternity, ODK honorary fraternity and the Men's Judiciary Board.

He taught in Flint area high schools and in England and Japan, returning to the United States in 1965 to begin a 31-year administrative career at WMU. He retired in 1996 and pursued his hobbies of traveling and collecting antiques. He also was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Kalamazoo.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 18, at the First United Methodist Church, 2121 S. Park St., in Kalamazoo. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
