Children's reading program begins in September

Aug. 19, 2009

KALAMAZOO--Supplemental instruction in reading, writing and study skills is available for school-aged children through grade eight at the McGinnis Reading Center and Clinic in Sangren Hall at Western Michigan University.

Sessions are held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. every Tuesday, Sept. 15 through Dec. 8. Each child will receive individual instruction. Qualified graduate students will supervise assessment and diagnostic teaching. Children will be provided with instructional activities that foster growth, progress, and confidence in reading and writing.

The fee is $225 per student. Children of WMU students, faculty and staff receive a 30 percent discount. Due to limited enrollment, interested parties are encouraged to register by Sept. 1.
