Broncos announce 2009-10 hockey schedule

KALAMAZOO--The Western Michigan University Bronco hockey team has released its official schedule for the upcoming 2009-10 season.

The Broncos open the season Wednesday, Oct. 7, with a scrimmage against the University of Windsor. They start their regular season the following weekend, hosting Mercyhurst College for a two-game series Oct. 16-17.

Schedule highlights include home-and-home matches against Michigan State, Ferris State and University of Michigan, and the third annual Hockey Cares weekend, benefitting the American Cancer Society. The Broncos close out the season with a home-and-home series versus Ferris State. WMU's final home game is Saturday, Feb. 27, for Senior Night against the Bulldogs.
