Sotomayor appointment to be addressedSept. 8, 2009 KALAMAZOO--In honor of the Sept. 17 anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution, two doctoral students in political science will present a roundtable discussion as part of Western Michigan University's observance of Constitution and Citizenship Day. Mark Beougher and Todd Curry will discuss "The Supreme Court and the Constitution: Change and Continuity With the Appointment of Justice Sotomayor" from 2 to 3:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in Room 3301 of Friedmann Hall. The duo will address the impact that Sonia Sotomayor's recent appointment to the Supreme Court may have on decisions related to a few key cases likely to reach the Court in the 2009-10 term.
