Dunn's annual review tops trustees' agenda

Sept. 16, 2009

KALAMAZOO--The annual review of Western Michigan University President John M. Dunn is among items the WMU Board of Trustees will consider when it meets in a formal public session at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17.

Dunn, WMU's president since 2007, has just entered his third year as the University's president. This week's review by the board will be his second since taking office. As part of the process, Trustees are expected to decide Dunn's compensation for the coming year.

Meeting in Rooms 157-159 of the Bernhard Center, the board also will consider a name change for the College of Education as well as a recommendation to establish an audit committee. Trustees also will examine the University's list of building priorities to be submitted to the state as part of the annual State Capital Outlay Request.

Additional agenda items to be considered by the board will include reports on gifts, grants and personnel changes. The board also will hear a report on WMU's successful Seita Scholars Program, a support and outreach effort designed to increase the college attendance and success of students who have aged out of foster care.
