Homecoming and Family Weekend draw thousands

KALAMAZOO--Thousands of Western Michigan University alumni, parents and family members are expected on campus Friday through Sunday, Oct. 23-25, for the 2009 Family Weekend and WMU Homecoming celebration.

It marks the first time WMU Homecoming and Family Weekend are being held the same weekend, contributing to a rich calendar of events.

Weekend highlights

Friday, Oct. 23

• Canceled due to weather Soap Box Derby
• Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner
• Bronco volleyball vs. Kent State

Saturday, Oct. 24

• Campus Classic 1K and 5K run/walk
• Alumni Pepfest and Family Weekend Tailgate Party
• Bronco football vs. Buffalo
• National Pan-Hellenic Council Marchdown
• Bronco volleyball vs. Ohio

Sunday, Oct. 25

• Family Weekend Grab the Reins Brunch
