Oct. 26, 2009

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University is seeking donations of WMU souvenirs and small individually wrapped candy to be handed out along the parade route of the Kalamazoo Holiday Parade Saturday, Nov. 14.

Students, alumni, employees and friends are invited to participate in WMU's entry by also volunteering to decorate the University's float and to walk in the parade.

The theme for the float this year will be "Grab the Reins." Float decorating will take place Wednesday, Nov. 11, and Friday, Nov 13, from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. in the Campus Services Building.

Those participating in the parade need to report to the staging area in downtown Kalamazoo by 9:30 a.m. Nov. 14. The parade begins at 11 a.m., and the route is one mile. Children of WMU families are welcome to participate, but younger children must be accompanied by a parent.
