Political satire 'In the Loop' at Little TheatreOct. 30, 2009 KALAMAZOO--Kalamazoo Film Society presents "In the Loop" Friday through Sunday, Nov. 6-8, in the Little Theatre at Western Michigan University. Show times are 7 and 9:30 p.m. Friday; 4:30, 7 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday; and 2:30, 5 and 7:15 p.m. Sunday. General admission is $5 and $3 for students with a valid ID. Art imitates life in this witty political satire starring Peter Capaldi, Tom Hollander, Gina McKee and James Gandolfini. The fast-paced comedy follows the activities of a British diplomatic staff in Washington, D.C., prior to the invasion of Iraq. Although the laughs arrive at a steady pace, the subtext that underlies them is sobering. The difference between a war of necessity and a war of choice may mean the difference between life and death--just not for those making the decisions. Directed by Armando Iannucci, the 2009 film is shown in English and has a run time of 106 minutes. It is not rated, but does contain coarse language. Parking and directions The Little Theatre is located at the corner of Oakland Drive and Oliver Lane on WMU's East Campus. Free off-street parking is available behind the theatre.
