Two faculty and staff retirements announcedNov. 4, 2009 KALAMAZOO--The retirements of one faculty member and one staff member were approved by the Western Michigan University Board of Trustees at its Nov. 2 meeting. Trustees also accepted the resignations of a faculty member and one staff member. The faculty retirement, with emerita status, was acted on posthumously for Dr. Susan V. Ponchillia, and is effective Nov. 2, 2009. Ponchillia, professor of blindness and low vision studies, died Oct. 12 after 28 years of service to the University. The staff member retiring is Richard C. McNorton, millwright maintenance mechanic in Facilities Management, 10 years of service, effective Dec. 31, 2009. The faculty member resigning is Teri A. Davis, faculty specialist II-clinical specialist in the Bronson School of Nursing, effective Dec. 22, 2009. The staff member resigning is Terry L.
