'Cold Souls' playing at Little Theatre

Nov. 24, 2009

KALAMAZOO--Kalamazoo Film Society presents "Cold Souls," starring Paul Giamatti, Friday through Sunday, Dec. 4-6, in the Little Theatre at Western Michigan University.

Show times are 7 and 9:30 p.m. Friday; 4:30, 7 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday; and 2:30, 5 and 7:15 p.m. Sunday. General admission is $5 and $3 for students with a valid ID.

Giamatti stars as himself in this compassionate comedy that gives new meaning to the term "soul searching." After agonizing over his role in a production of Anton Chekhov's "Uncle Vanya," Giamatti has his soul extracted and frozen to alleviate anxiety. Complications arise when his soul is stolen for a Russian actress, leaving him no choice but to travel to St. Petersburg to recover it.

Written and directed by Sophie Barthes, the 2009 film is shown in English and has a run time of 101 minutes. It is rated PG-13 for nudity and coarse language.

Parking and directions

The Little Theatre is located at the corner of Oakland Drive and Oliver Lane on WMU's East Campus. Free off-street parking is available behind the theatre.
