Registration under way for children's reading program

KALAMAZOO--After-school literacy tutoring is available for school-aged children through grade nine at the McGinnis Reading Center and Clinic in Sangren Hall at Western Michigan University.

Every Tuesday, Jan. 19 through April 20
4:30 to 6 p.m.
3514 Sangren Hall

Highly qualified tutors will assess students and develop individualized lesson plans that include one-on-one and small-group coaching in reading, writing and critical thinking. Children will take part in instructional activities that foster the development of new literacy skills, confidence and an appreciation for lifelong learning.

The fee is $225 per student. Dependents of WMU students, faculty and staff receive a 30 percent discount. Due to limited enrollment, interested parties are encouraged to register now.
