Descend to the underworld with 'Eurydice'Jan. 14, 2010 KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University Theatre presents an inventive retelling of the Orpheus myth with its spring opener, "Eurydice," running Jan. 28-Feb. 7 in York Arena Theatre at the Gilmore Theatre Complex.
This ancient love story is granted new life by the comic audacity, magical surrealism and devastating tragedy of Sarah Ruhl's script. Join University Theatre in a world where love conquers death and stones can talk. Cast and creative team University Theatre's production of "Eurydice" is under the direction of Mark Liermann, associate professor of theatre, with stage direction by WMU student Alan Knight. The all-student cast includes Zack Apman, Katy Copeland, Shannon Hill, Joel Hoard, Michael Lopetrone, Ben Maters and Rachel Napoleon. Tickets All seating for "Eurydice" at York Arena Theatre is general admission. Tickets are $20, $15 for senior citizens and WMU employees, and $5 for students.
