Learn about careers in the life sciencesMarch 24, 2010 KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University has scheduled its 2010 Life Sciences Opportunities Day for 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, on campus in the Bernhard Center's Brown and Gold Room. Although open to WMU alumni and the general public, the event is not a traditional job fair. It is an opportunity for the University's students and alumni to meet and network with employers and organizations associated with the life sciences, discuss career options, and learn about industry needs. Representatives from several Southwest Michigan companies will be on hand to describe science career paths, answer questions and accept resumes for summer jobs as well as internships. Among the participating employers will be Perrigo, Pfizer, Forensic Fluids Labs, MPI Research, Kelly Scientific, Intern in Michigan, Kalexsyn, Drug and Laboratory Disposal, Van Andel Institute, and Kalamazoo Nature Center. The day is being sponsored by WMU's Department of Chemistry and its Career and Student Employment Services office. Students hoping to land an internship or investigate other professional opportunities are encouraged to wear business or business-casual attire and bring copies of their up-to-date resumes.
