Upcoming retirement receptions honor 17 employees

KALAMAZOO--Seventeen Western Michigan University staff members with a total of 416 years of service will be honored at a series of retirement receptions during the next three weeks.

Friday, Jan. 21

Linda Emmons (21 years), custodial and support services, will be honored at a reception in the Bernhard Center South Ballroom, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Jan. 26

Pamela Rups (31 years), information technology, will be honored at a reception at the Oaklands, 3 to 5 p.m.

Thursday, Jan. 27

Floyd Pientka (26 years), WMUK, will be honored at a reception at the Oaklands, 3 to 5 p.m.

Friday, Jan. 28

Lawrence Scott (22 years), labor relations and transportation services, will be honored at a reception in 208 Bernhard Center, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Janice Dekker (34 years) and Joyce Gard (27 years), health and human services, will be honored at a reception in 4010 Health and Human Services Building, 3 to 5 p.m.

Patricia Emelander (14 years), Susan Henker (15 years), Joanne Lee (28 years), Barbara McKinney (30 years), Michele McLaughlin (28 years), Pamela Robertson (21 years) and Sharon Wagner (14 years), Registrar's Office, will be honored at a reception in the Gilmore Theatre atrium, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Monday, Jan. 31

Wil Emmert (36 years), Victoria Janson (11 years) and Walter Worthy (22 years), research, will be honored at a reception in the main lobby of Walwood Hall, 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 2

Pamela Liberacki (36 years), admissions, will be honored at a reception in 209 Bernhard Center, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

McKinney's and Wagner's retirements were official Jan. 3. The remaining employees officially retire Jan. 31. Twenty-seven staff members with a total of 640 years of service retire from the University this month.
