Workshops slated for WMU grad students

KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University's Graduate College has planned a series of workshops designed to supplement graduate-level courses, aid the research process and add to students' professional development.

Although open to the public, the workshops are tailored to WMU graduate students. Online registration is required at wmich.edu/grad.

Spring Graduate College Workshops

  • Wednesday, Jan. 26, 9 a.m.
    1416 College of Health and Human Services
    "Overview of Statistical Concepts," presented by Lincoln Jiang. Visit wmich.edu/grad for an online tutorial prior to attending the seminar.

  • Wednesday, Jan. 26, 6 p.m.
    Fetzer Center Putney Auditorium
    "Get a Committee that Works With (Not Against) You: It's Your Choice," is a special seminar for graduate faculty advisors and doctoral students, presented by Dr. Barbara Liggett.

  • Thursday, Feb. 3, 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
    Walwood Hall, Emeriti Lounge
    "Quality Circle Review" for Graduate Student Assessment Grant applicants.

  • Thursday, Feb. 10, 9 a.m.
    2016 Fetzer Center
    A writing workshop on "How to Publish in Peer-Reviewed Journals," presented by Jan Andersen.

  • Wednesday, Feb. 23, 9 a.m.

    "Overview of SPSS," presented by Lincoln Jiang.

    "Professional Writing for Graduate Students," presented by Jan Andersen.

    "Time Management for Graduate Students," presented by Paul Knudstrup.
