Knific performs in CD-release concertFeb. 4, 2011 KALAMAZOO--Tom Knific's fourth solo CD, "The Muse," will be released at a concert Tuesday, Feb. 22, at Western Michigan University. A reception and CD signing follows the performance, which begins at 8:15 p.m. in the University's Dalton Center Recital Hall. Admission to the concert is $15 and $5 for students, or free with a $15 purchase of "The Muse" at the door. "The Muse" explores a world of influences through Knific's original compositions as well as unique takes on Lennon/McCartney songs. It showcases American music icon, pianist Fred Hersch, and singers Taylor O'Donnell and Mark Jackson. Also featured is the Tom Knific Quartet, which includes Chris Beckstrom, saxophone; John Knific, piano; Keith Hall, drums; and Ryan Andrews, percussion.
