'3 Redneck Tenors' brings down-home humor to campusMarch 8, 2011
Join Billy Bob, Billy Joe and Billy Billee as they mix NASCAR with La Boheme, light beer with Carmen, and even kick up a little dust with Madame Butterfly. Travel with the three classical cousins from their modest beginnings in Paris, Texas, all the way to their triumphant debut at New York's famous Carnegie Hall. The foot-stomping musical comedy features classically trained veteran artists performing everything from Elvis to Puccini, soul to pop and country to opera. The audience will enjoy such familiar favorites as "Lone Prairie," "La Donna e Mobile," "Please Kind Sir," "Green, Green Grass of Home," "YMCA," "O Sole Mio," "It's Now or Never," "Greensleeves," "Hound Dog," "You Light Up My Life," "Nessun Dorma," "La Danza" and "Shenandoah." Produced by Dallas-based Master Performances Company, written by opera-veteran Matthew Lord and with music arranged by award-winning composer Craig Bohmler, "3 Redneck Tenors" features a cast of veteran Broadway and opera stars including Blake Davidson, Alex Bumpas, Matthew Lord and Dinny McGuire.
