KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University's Partners in Dance is sponsoring a trip to see the New York-based Complexions Contemporary Ballet perform at Detroit Music Hall Sunday, April 3.

Seating is limited and reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration and payment are required by Tuesday, March 29.

The cost of the trip is $75 for Partners in Dance members and $85 for non-members. The price includes orchestra seats on the main floor, round-trip motor coach transportation, and a boxed lunch and lecture en-route by Sharon Garber, associate professor of dance. Hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be provided on the way back to Kalamazoo after the performance.

Founded by choreographers and dancers Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson, Complexions has awakened audiences to an exciting new genre that combines the best of athleticism, lyricism and technical training. The diverse dancers that comprise the company celebrate the physical uniqueness of their respective cultures. The April 3 performance will include choreography that, although full of artistic beauty, expresses current political, social and emotional issues.

WMU Department of Dance alumnus Tercell Waters performs with the company and will meet with bus trip patrons following the performance.

To register for the trip to Detroit or for more information about the event, contact the Department of Dance at dance-info@wmich.edu or (269) 387-5830.
