Annual Drag Show is Friday at Bernhard

Photo of WMU LGTB art.KALAMAZOO--The 6th annual OUTspoken Drag Show, supporting the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and allied community at Western Michigan University is Friday, March 25, from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Bernhard Center Ballroom. Admission is $5.

A medieval theme has been chosen for this year's show, which has the tag line "Get Your Drag-on." Performers can win prizes and trophies in four categories.

Competition categories
Most support for an RSO
Best king performance
Best queen performance
Most tips generated

Members of WMU's Campus Activities Board, Theater for Community Health, Western Student Association and other registered student organizations will perform, as well as Hip Hop ConnXion and No Strings Attached.

Judges for this year's competition include Dr. Diane Anderson, vice president for student affairs and dean of students, Sarah Stangl, coordinator of LGBT Student Services and Aaron Booth, president of the Western Student Association.

Student organization OUTspoken promotes an LGBT friendly climate at WMU with an average attendance of 50 students at its weekly meetings.
