Raising awareness about people with disabilitiesMarch 24, 2011 KALAMAZOO--"Empowering Ability" is the topic of a free event from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, in the Bernhard Center Ballroom at Western Michigan University.
Snacks and entertainment will be available before the speech. After the talk, Disability Network of Southwest Michigan will facilitate small group discussions on disabilities. The event is sponsored by Theta Rho chapter of Pi Kappa Phi, the Campus Activities Board and the Western Student Association. It is being held in conjunction with Pi Kappa Phi's involvement with the national organization, Push America, an advocacy group for people with disabilities.
