KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University and the University of Passau are inviting their faculty members from any discipline to apply for a short-term faculty exchange this summer.

Applications are due by Wednesday, Sept. 21. German language skills are not required.

The relationship between WMU and UP is in its third decade and has provided many opportunities for cross-cultural interchange.

The WMU applicant who is selected for the upcoming faculty exchange will spend one month in May or June as a visiting professor at UP, one of the newest German universities in the lovely region of Bavaria.

The successful applicant will have ample opportunity for research and interaction with Passau faculty. UP will provide office space, access to its facilities and housing in the city. Previous visiting professors typically have been invited to give one or two lectures on an area of their expertise.

Faculty members interested in the exchange should submit a brief letter of interest, including a proposed list of topics they might like to speak on, and a curriculum vitae.

Visit the University of Passau online for more information.

Applications and questions should be directed to Michelle Metro-Roland, director of faculty and global program development in the Haenicke Institute, at michelle.metro-roland@wmich.edu or (269) 387-3908.
