KALAMAZOO--Western Michigan University is seeking 10 "friendship families" to befriend Japanese junior high and high school English teachers coming to the University next month to study advanced English and language teaching.

WMU's Haenicke Institute for Global Education will assign one teacher to each participating family for a period beginning at the end of July and ending during the first week of September.

Friendship families are asked to host the teachers for dinner at least twice and introduce these visitors to the area by including them in weekend activities. Providing that level of hospitality will give participating families a great opportunity to engage in cross-cultural interaction the Japanese teachers a welcome break from motel living.
