Most WMU offices closed Labor Day weekend

Most campus services closed Sept. 3-5.
KALAMAZOO--Except for essential and emergency services, Western Michigan University offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 5, in observance of U.S. Labor Day.

Listed below are Labor Day weekend hours for select University offices and services. Most campus services are closed or on reduced hours Saturday through Monday, Sept. 3-5. Faculty and staff, students and the public are encouraged to call ahead to make sure that a particular office is open before driving to campus. For emergencies only, contact WMU Public Safety at (269) 387-5555.

Fall semester classes begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Admissions office is closed Saturday through Monday, Sept. 3-5. No campus tours will take place over the weekend.

Bernhard Center and Bronco Mall store hours are available online. Open reduced hours Saturday, Sunday and Monday are: the Bernhard Information Desk, Biggby Coffee, Buster's, Campus Trends, Subway and Textbook Alley. All other shops and services are closed.

Information Technology Help Desk and Mobile Help Desk are closed Saturday through Monday, Sept. 3-5. The Help Desk begins fall semester hours at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6. The Mobile Help Desk begins fall semester hours at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Bernhard Center computer lab is closed Saturday through Monday, Sept. 3-5, and begins fall semester hours at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6.

University Computing Center lab is closed Saturday through Monday, Sept. 3-5, and begins fall semester hours at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6.

One Stop Convenience Center is closed Saturday through Monday, Sept. 3-5. The center will reopen at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Student Recreation Center is closed through Saturday, Sept. 3; open noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4; closed Monday, Sept. 5; and begins fall semester hours at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Sindecuse Health Center, including the pharmacy, is closed Saturday through Monday, Sept. 3-5. Medical emergencies should be referred to local hospitals or other health care providers.

Unified Clinics is closed Saturday through Monday, Sept. 3-5.

Waldo Library is closed Saturday through Monday, Sept. 3-5, and begins fall semester hours at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6.

To reduce energy costs while the University is closed, heating and cooling systems in all office and classroom buildings controlled by the WMU Building Energy Management System will be in holiday mode. Air handlers will not run during this time, unless a space is exempt from the program or the temperature in a particular space goes outside of the range of 60 to 85 degrees. Portions of a particular building that do not normally go into night setback mode will not go into holiday mode.
