KALAMAZOO--The Western Michigan University Frostic School of Art is again opening its doors to young artists in the community this fall, offering Saturday morning art classes to area children and teens.

The SMArt program--for Saturday Morning Art--will begin Saturday, Oct. 8, and continue each Saturday through Nov. 19. The workshops run from 9 to 11 a.m. in the School of Art studios in south Kohrman Hall on the University's main campus.

The registration fee is $40 for seven workshops. The deadline to register is Friday, Sept. 30.

Designed for young people ages 7 to 18 who enjoy art and wish to develop their talents, SMArt classes will explore a wide range of creative approaches, media and techniques. The seven weeks of art instruction culminate with a public exhibition of student artwork in the Frostic School of Art galleries.
