Program proposals sought for Gender and Leadership summit

KALAMAZOO--Program proposals are being accepted until 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, for the first Gender and Leadership Summit at Western Michigan University.

The day-long summit will be held Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, and give WMU's undergraduate student leaders a chance to build their leadership abilities by attending various educational sessions and workshops. It is being sponsored by WMU's Student Activities and Leadership Programs office and will include a keynote speaker and networking opportunities.

The Gender and Leadership Summit Planning Committee invites professionals in the local community, as well as WMU alumni, graduate students, and faculty and staff members, to submit proposals for one-hour programs. The committee is encouraging submissions on topics including:

Proposals will be evaluated on the basis of clarity of presentation purpose and objectives/learning outcomes, creativity, relevance of the topic to student leaders, and how engaging the session will be for participants.
