Jennings is the first former WMU Bronco featured on the cover of SI, although former men's basketball stand out Ben Reed was included in an SI cover collage of players from all the teams in the 2004 NCAA Tournament. Not even five-time All-Pro linebacker John Offerdahl made an SI cover during his time as an All-American at Western Michigan or during his Pro Bowl seasons with the Miami Dolphins.

A native and resident of Kalamazoo, Jennings was drafted by Green Bay in the second round in 2006. In February, he scored two touchdowns in the Packers' 31-25 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV. He was also named to the Pro Bowl following the 2010 regular season in which he was No. 2 in the NFC and fourth overall with 1,265 yards on 76 catches and tied a career-high with 12 touchdown receptions.

At WMU, Jennings finished with the school's career records in number of receptions (238), touchdowns (39) and all-purpose yards (5,050). As a senior, Jennings led the nation in receptions-per-game (8.91) and ranked second in touchdowns and in yards-per-game (114.45). He was named the Mid-American Conference's Offensive Player of the Year.
