Gold Company presents annual 'Sneak Preview' concert

KALAMAZOO--Gold Company, Western Michigan University's internationally recognized vocal jazz ensemble, will hold its 34th annual "Sneak Preview" concert at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall.

Led by Dr. Steve Zegree, WMU professor of music, Gold Company will present a preview of new music from its 34th anniversary show, "Gold Company Salutes The Oscars," slated for Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at Miller Auditorium.

The concert also will feature arrangements from the group's upcoming 2011-12 season, which includes a Dec. 4 holiday concert at Miller Auditorium, a March concert at Jazz at the Lincoln Center in New York City, and a featured performance at the Michigan Music Conference Convention in Grand Rapids in January.

The Nov. 10 concert also will feature an appearance by Gold Company's sister group, GC II, which is directed by WMU alumnus Michael Wheaton.

All seating for Gold Company's "Sneak Preview" concert is general admission. Tickets are $10 and $5 for WMU students with a valid ID. They are available at the door and through the Miller Auditorium Ticket Office at millerauditorium.com/som, (269) 387-2300 or (800) 228-9858.
