KALAMAZOO--A campuswide test of the WMU Alert emergency notification system at Western Michigan University will take place beginning at about 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18.

All faculty, staff and students who have registered a phone number in the system should receive a phone call with a brief test message.

If you are not already registered in WMU Alert, or if you need to change your phone number in the system, login to GoWMU and click WMU Alert in the center of your home tab. Register the phone number you are most likely to answer. Phones registered by Wednesday, Nov. 16, will be included in Friday's test.

WMU Alert is used for extreme campus emergencies. It is not used to announce weather closings or for any other announcements.

Weather closings are posted immediately on the WMU home page and available on the emergency information line at (269) 387-1001.
