Music icon Kenny Rogers celebrates 'Christmas and Hits' at WMU

KALAMAZOO--Grammy Award-winning music legend Kenny Rogers will celebrate the 30th anniversary of his "Christmas and Hits" tour with a festive show at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at Western Michigan University's Miller Auditorium.

Kenny Rogers' "Christmas and Hits" with special guest Billy Dean will feature live performances of such traditional and original holiday songs as "White Christmas," "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let it Snow!," "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)," "Joy To The World," "O Holy Night" and "'Til The Season Comes 'Round Again," with the help of local choirs and children. Rogers also will sing many of the classics from his overflowing catalog of hits: "The Gambler," "Lady," "She Believes In Me," "Islands In The Stream," "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town," "Lucille" and "Through The Years," among others.

A beloved, universally known icon of American entertainment, Rogers has thrived as a singer, musician and showman for more than 50 years. He has recorded more than 65 albums, which have sold 120 million units worldwide. Rogers is the only artist to chart a record in each of the last six decades. He has received countless honors, including three Grammy Awards, five Country Music Association Awards, 18 American Music Awards, eight Academy of Country Music Awards and 11 People's Choice Awards. He's ranked No. 8 on the Recording Industry Association of America's list of Top Selling Male Artists of all time.

Kenny Rogers' "Christmas and Hits" with special guest Billy Dean at Miller Auditorium is part of the Lake Michigan Mailers Spotlight Series and is welcomed by Meijer and Zhang Financial. Tickets are on sale now and range from $35 to $60. Discounts

A 15 percent discount is available to all WMU faculty and staff, and a 50 percent discount is available to WMU students. Discounted tickets may be purchased by phone or in person, and a valid Bronco Card is required at the time of pickup. Group discounts are available at (269) 387-2312.
