Printing

From library computers

Western Michigan University students, faculty and staff signed in with a Bronco NetID: Your document will automatically print from a public computer to a printer on the same floor (3rd floor prints to 2nd floor printer). Pages will be deducted from your lab printing account and can be monitored in by students in GoWMU. Faculty and staff can check their balance by visiting this link. Printing stations

Print stations are located at:

    • First Floor - Near IT Services
    • Second and Third Floors - Near Government Documents

Guest Users

To print a document, it must be formatted as a PDF, JPEG, or TIFF file and saved to a USB flash drive. To format a Word or Excel file as a PDF, choose File > Save As > Change “Save as type" dropdown to PDF. The PDF, JPEG or TIFF files can be printed from any of the public copy machines. Guests may also print using coins or copy cards and the guest account on the libraries’ microscanners. Cost: $0.10 per page, by copy card or cash.

Microscanners

Printing from microscanners can happen two ways. The first way is identical to printing from any library computer using your Bronco NetID. Visit Lab Printing for details. The second way is by copy card or cash: cost: $0.10 per page, by copy card or cash, 11"x17" prints are also available; see prices below.

Scanning

Cost: Free. You may scan print materials and microform documents from a copier to USB devices for free (you will need at least 10 cents credit to activate the copier, either in change or on a copy card). Scans can be created in color (.jpg and .pdf formats) or black and white (.jpg, .pdf. and .tif formats). The maximum resolution is 300 dpi for color scans and 600 dpi for black and white scans.

Coin change machines

Change (in quarters) is available from several change machines at the following locations:
