Spring midterm grades due March 8
Grades can be entered in GoWMU using the Midterm Grade Worksheet. Grades can also be reported through D2L. Additional information on midterm grading, as well as instructions on how to submit midterm grades via Elearning, can be found at wmich.edu/registrar/faculty-staff/grades.
Instructors can report students who are not performing well, have excessive absences or missing multiple assignments using the Report Student Academic Concern form located on the Faculty Menu in GoWMU. When a student is reported, the information is sent to the Registrar's Office, Residence Life (if the student is living on campus) and the academic advisor of record (if the student is an undergraduate). Additionally, a comment is added to the “Notes” section in Degree Works. If the student has granted Proxy access to a parent/guardian, the parent/guardian will have access to the Academic Concern note in Degree Works.
Fall registration begins March 8
Fall course offerings are now available via GoWMU and the WMU Course Offerings page. Registration for graduate students begins Monday, March 8, at 7:30 a.m.
Late graduation applications must be submitted by April 1
As a reminder, Feb. 1 was the deadline for June, August and December 2021 graduation applications. Students may now submit a late application through April 1 or wait until the next available graduation term. Late applicants will be charged $200 in addition to the $55 graduation fee. All earnings from the late fee will be used to bolster future communication efforts from the Registrar's Office.
The Registrar's Office will send a final reminder regarding the April 1 deadline to eligible students next week. Please direct questions to John Scott.
Virtual commencement planned for May 1; invite extended to 2020 spring and summer graduates
WMU will be hosting a virtual commencement ceremony on May 1 to celebrate spring graduates. As the timing for a rescheduled in-person graduation continues to be pushed out, we have also invited 2020 spring and summer graduates to participate in the virtual ceremony. The ceremony will be as close to a traditional commencement experience as possible. More information, including viewing times, will be announced soon.
Participation instructions were sent to graduates via email earlier this week. The deadline to submit materials for inclusion in the ceremony is Friday, March 19, at 11:59 p.m. Regalia may be purchased from the WMU Bookstore shops. GPA honor cords are available upon request. Learn more at wmich.edu/commencement.
