  • The Innovative Advocate

Alvin Hills has built a career finding innovative ways to help people. As a highly involved Business Bronco, he gained skills in leadership and an appreciation for social responsibility. This became the springboard for starting his first nonprofit right out of college, Endless Opportunities. The organization delivers mentor experiences for at-risk youth in West Michigan through advocacy, outreach and collaboration.

Hills then took on the role of program administrator for LTAI, a nonprofit that specializes in residential foster care housing solutions and life skills development, and subsequently worked as a liability risk management analyst and business developer for the city of Grand Rapids. Next on his list: co-founding the Midwest Tech Project, a think tank focused on increasing racial and gender diversity in the technology industry.

With his community experience and youth expertise, Hills’ latest venture has been starting his own firm, Alvin J. Hill IV and Associates, which assists businesses, nonprofits and educational institutions with youth empowerment strategies. His work and community investment has earned him several awards from notable organizations, including: Grand Rapids NAACP Role Model Education Award; Grand Rapids Area Black Business Young, Black & Gifted Award; Corp Magazine Most Valuable Millennial Award and more.
