Jan Davis, M.S., OTR/L

Jan Davis is an internationally recognized leader in providing clinical training for therapists working in stroke rehabilitation. Trained as an occupational therapist in the United States, Davis' career has spanned several areas of health care. She has worked in inpatient rehabilitation centers and directed occupational therapy departments in rehabilitation centers located in California and Switzerland. She has held faculty and guest faculty positions at universities. In addition, Davis has presented at the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine, the American Society of NeuroRehabilitation and the American Academy of Neurology. Her work has been published in university texts, medical journals, and occupational therapy publications. She has also written articles published by the American Stroke Association and the National Stroke Association, which provide helpful information for families and caregivers.

Perhaps she is best known for providing high-quality continuing education to occupational therapists worldwide. She makes complex principles easy to understand as she provides practical, functional treatment ideas to illustrate her classes. Since 2000, Davis has developed state-of-the- art educational materials for practicing clinicians, educational programs and universities. Her unique and highly successful multimedia programs combine excellent written materials with video technology to support the education of new students as well as lifelong learning for all occupational therapy practitioners.

Her current work has connected her clinical experience, creative teaching skills and desire to support the growth of our profession with the power of occupation-based treatment regardless of the practice setting.
