Lauren Berger Berger is CEO and founder of InternQueen.com , an internship placement consultancy that works with more than 1,000 employers worldwide, connecting them with ambitious high school and college students. Her entrepreneurial spirit has attracted millions of job and internship seekers to her Web resources, and she has been internationally recognized for her work with young people. Berger participated in 15 internships during her four years of college, earning the title Intern Queen.

Arbor Brewing Company Pioneers of craft beer since 1995, Matt and Rene Greff decided to give up their corporate jobs when they were in their late 20s to start a brewpub soon after microbreweries were legalized in Michigan. They raised their startup capital through a network of friends, family and co-workers and became the first brewpub to open in Ann Arbor and the fifth to open in Michigan's fledgling microbrewery movement.

Career Fair WMU's annual Career Fair is open to the public but tailored for WMU students and alumni. Now in its 35th year, it routinely draws some 3,000 job seekers in addition to employers from such diverse areas as engineering, technology, health care, the environmental sciences, insurance, retail and consumer products, transportation, government, the nonprofit sector and construction.

Colonel Lewis E. Burchard, B.B.A.'66, M.A.'70
Haworth College of Business
He has served as Detachment, Battery, Company, Battalion, and Brigade and Post Commander. Burchard says the best military job he ever had was the Brigade Command position in Wyoming, Mich., where he led more than 3,000 men and women in the Michigan National Guard. He says the best civilian job was serving as superintendent of schools at Lake City, Mich., a position he held for 15 years until he retired in 2005.
