Negotiation Updates: September 6, 2014
Dear Campus Colleagues:
We are pleased to announce that a tentative agreement on a new contract was reached last night with the WMU-AAUP.
Both teams worked diligently together throughout the evening to reach this much hoped for outcome before the old contract lapsed. We want to acknowledge the members of the AAUP chapter's team for their commitment and dedication to best represent the interests of their members, and we thank them for their professionalism and willingness to engage in open and frank conversation.
Out of courtesy to the AAUP leadership and bargaining team, we will hold off on discussion of the agreement details until they have had an opportunity to share the information with their members.
The next step will be for the WMU-AAUP to communicate with its members the details of the tentative agreement and seek ratification of the proposed contract. Once that happens, approval will be sought from the Board of Trustees.
Thank you for your continuing interest in reviewing the process from the perspective of both sides of the bargaining table.
