The Emeriti Council at WMU will offer a virtual presentation of its Wednesday II program from 2 to 3 p.m. on March 10. At that time, Professor W.F. Santiago-Valles will talk about "Historical Causes of Central American Migration and Refugee Exodus to the U.S." The talk will include economic and military histories about the flight of migrants, refugees, exiles and asylum seekers; the public policies that push them out; who profits from those public policies inside the United States; the assumptions that migrants, refugees, exiles and asylum seekers bring here, and the impact of their presence on our health and education systems. Email gary.lawson@wmich.edu for information to access the virtual event.
