Posted by Rachael Bower for Haworth College of Business

Creative Placemaking: The Economic Impact of Music

The next speaker in the 2023-24 Degrees of Growth Luncheon Series is Adam Schumaker, M.M.'08, director of education at The Gilmore in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Schumaker is an arts administrator, education and composer. His life is devoted to making beautiful music and ensuring that it is accessible to everyone.

As director of The Gilmore Piano Festival, he manages programs that serve thousands of students, providing piano-focused music education to students who would not otherwise have the opportunity.

In addition, Schumaker launched The Gilmore's live-streaming initiatives, bringing exceptional performances to digital platforms.

Schumaker is an active composer, songwriter and arranger, working on chamber music, ensemble pieces and an indie rock album set to release in 2024.

Join us to hear about how business and the arts intersect—and add a little music to your day!

The in-person presentation will be held on Friday, February 9 at noon in 2150 Schneider Hall, with parking available in lot 72R. A light lunch will be provided and registration is required. Please fill out and submit the form below.
