Movie Night "En el Nombre del Litio"

The Spanish Club is hosting a viewing and discussion of the film En elnombre del Litio (In the Name of Lithium).
The film explores the community "El Moreno", in Salinas Grandes, Jujuy, where more than 30 indigenous communities struggle to prevent the imminent arrival of multinational mining companies to extract lithium, the new white gold. This element is essential for lithium ion batteries, the energy storage basis for electric vehicles and renewable energy storage.
This event corresponds with students a part of the Global Engagement Program to earn credit toward the $500 Global Bronco Study Abroad Scholarship.
