The WMUx Office of Faculty Development is seeking applications and nominations for the position of Associate Director. Candidates for this position are WMU board-appointed, tenured faculty who are looking to develop as leaders on campus, while helping to make significant contributions to the teaching and learning mission of the university.
The Associate Director will operate within the Instructional Development and Support structure of WMUx, where staff in OFD, instructional design (ID), and the Instructional Technology Center (ITC) collaborate to plan and deliver programming and consultations.
Qualifications and Expectations
The Associate Director will:
- Help the Director to plan and host key events, including New Faculty Orientation, New GA Orientation, and summer programming;
- Administer, in collaboration with the WMUx senior administrator, all of the award programs that run through WMUx OFD;
- Work with WMUx web design to keep the Instructional Development and Support page up-to-date and with WMUx marcom to publicize programming;
- Develop new programming or projects, based upon their own areas of interest.
Preferred qualifications include previous experience with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, instructional design, assessment, and/or learning analytics.
The faculty member selected for this position will be provided with a one-course buy-out at part time rates in each academic semester (Fall 2022 and Spring 2023) and a 5.5% non-teaching stipend for one summer session (Summer I or Summer II 2022).
