Reduction in Force report:  July 31, 2020

Western Michigan University is instituting personnel reductions as part of 2020-21 budget cuts brought on by COVID-19 impacts. Decisions were made based on the University's Reduction in Force policy. The policy stipulates that there are three primary drivers in this process: the division or department’s mission or primary services, job functions and requisite skills related to fulfilling that mission, and seniority among affected job functions. Each RIF plan was reviewed by the Office of Institutional Equity to help prevent adverse impact based on protected class identities. The overall numbers detailed in the impact report linked here are correct as of July 31, 2020, but they are subject to change based on bumping and a small number of  remaining recalls.
