On-campus Accommodations

On-campus housing is available at dorms located a short walk from the WMU Ceramics Studio.

Workshop Housing Packages include 12 nights. *Additional days are not available.

  • Checkout: Friday, May 31, 2024 @ 5:00pm

Housing Package Rates: 

  • Single Occupancy:  $36.00 per person/per night - Housing Package Total: $432.00
  • Double Occupancy:  $26.00 per person/per night - Housing Package Total: $312.00
  • Single Occupancy (with A/C): $68.00 per person/per night - Housing Package Total: $816.00
  • Double Occupancy (with A/C): $48.00 per person/per night - Housing Package Total: $576.00

 

Off-Campus

The surrounding city of Kalamazoo has additional lodging and hotel accommodations within driving distance to campus. 
 

Campus Meal Plans

WMU Dining Services offers all-you-can-eat buffet-style dining centers with a wide variety of food selections. 

  • Breakfast (7am-11am): $9.00
  • Lunch (11am-2pm): $13.00
  • Dinner (5pm-8pm): $13.00

Travel

Road

WMU is located half way between Chicago and Detroit in Kalamazoo, Mich. Visitors will find convenient highway access to U.S. 131 from the north or south, or to I-94 from the east and west. MCC-WMU Studio Address: South Kohrman Hall, Kalamazoo, MI 49006

Air (driving distance from campus)

  • Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International (AZO) 8 miles
  • Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) 53 miles
  • Detroit Metro International Airport (DTW) 124 miles
  • Chicago Midway Internaional Airport (MDW) 150 miles
  • Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) 161 miles

    * Ground transportation options from Grand Rapids Airport (GRR) to Kalamazoo are limited to Uber, Lyft, or car rental; no shuttle or public transportation is available. 

Traveling around Kalamazoo

Limited public bus transportation is available on campus through the Metro Transit system. A bus will transport guests to the downtown bus station, where transfer buses are available to other areas in the city. Workshop participants generally find ride-share options with Uber or Lyft to be the most direct and easiest way to get around the city if they do not have a rental car.
