General summary

Manages operations and administrative support functions for the department, college, or division.

Major duties

  • Oversees the accuracy, collection, processing, maintenance and storage of hard copy and electronic records. Ensures conformity to established standards.
  • Supervises staff. Directs work distribution and coordinates daily workflow to ensure deadlines are met. Provides training to ensure staff development.
  • Responds to requests for data retrieval.
  • Develops, evaluates and updates office procedures, workflow and processes. Evaluates office systems and technology and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Serves as an office liaison for other university departments. Resolves non-routine problems and questions including those referred by other staff.
  • May coordinate annual and special projects.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Some college coursework from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Two years' relevant experience.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
