Retirees

  • 25 Year Club - Recognizes faculty and staff who have at least 25 years of service to Western Michigan University. Find more information on membership, including the most recent membership lists for employees and retirees.
  • Address, phone number, and name changes - Retirees may use the Employee Self Service system to make these changes.
  • Health care insurance and coverage - Certain WMU retirees are eligible for the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) WMU retiree health plan (please contact your Human Resources Representative to verify eligibility). For Medicare eligible retirees, the WMU retiree health plan is secondary to Medicare and those enrolled in the plan must be enrolled in Medicare parts A and B. This plan does not require Medicare part D coverage because creditable prescription drug coverage is included with the retiree health plan along with dental and vision coverage.
  • Osher Lifelong Learning Institute - The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Western Michigan University is designed for adults 50 and older who love to learn about different subjects, expand their horizons through travel, attend fun and engaging social events, and make connections with fellow knowledge-seekers. OLLI is a volunteer-driven organization with members who are very involved and look forward to welcoming you into their dynamic community. To learn more about OLLI at WMU, visit The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute or contact the office at (269) 387-4157.
