Customer Service Representative Payroll

General summary

Provides customer support for payroll and accounts payable.

Major duties

  • Responds to phone, email and in-person inquires related to payroll and accounts payable functions that include but are not limited to W-4's, direct deposit, pay card set up, and accounts payable procurement card transactions.
  • Provides internal and external customers with information on current policies and procedures.
  • Investigates and resolves processing issues. Prepares written documentation related to problem resolution.
  • Provides support for semimonthly and biweekly payroll cycles as well as quarterly and year-end tax filings.
  • Provides functional support for the procurement card and travel related functions utilizing the related system applications to process transactions and generate reports.
  • Performs daily bank reconciliations for Accounts Payable and handles Automated Clearing House returns.
  • May serve as backup to other payroll and accounts payable staff members as required.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Associate's degree or two years' college coursework in a related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • One year's relevant experience.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
