General summary

Designs and guides strategies for developing employment relationships with corporate recruiters and hiring managers. Manages University-wide recruiting functions.

Major duties

  • Provides direction and strategy to develop University-wide employer relations systems and protocol with stakeholders to understand recruiting practices and employment laws, utilize the job posting portal, increase student participation in experiential education and improve post-graduation success.
  • Coordinates and oversees multiple annual events. Develops and manages student engagement opportunities with employers by hosting events, including career fair preparation, practice interview day, resume critique and alumni sessions. Administers employer relations budget and revenues for events.
  • Manages recruiting functions for the University. Engages existing and prospective employers in targeted career events and recruiting programs.
  • Writes, edits and proofreads marketing materials, press releases and other content for employer relations and University employment-related websites. Creates new content and updates website in compliance with applicable standards and regulations. Collaborates with other staff to implement marketing and website strategies.
  • Plans and executes strategic planning and budgeting for department.
  • Supervises staff and student employees. Manages schedules and assignments. Ensures department strategic plan is being met.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Three years' relevant experience.
  • Supervisory or lead experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
