Associate Director Residence Life - Facilities

General summary

Responsible for all Housing and Residence Life facilities and operations for general housing and apartments.

Major duties

  • Participates in planning and revision of housing operations including housing contract administration, policy and procedural adjustments, business operations and updates.
  • Coordinates updates to the housing record management system to meet the needs of the end user and staff. Oversees implementation of system updates and contract changes. Participates in system upgrade meetings with outside contractor.
  • Oversees all apartment operational and functional decisions. Coordinates apartment turnovers and works with various campus departments and contractors to ensure turnover success.
  • Maintains schedules and assignments of staff to ensure proper workflow for Housing Office needs and functions to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of departmental operations.
  • Works to problem solve elevated concerns from students, staff, faculty, and parents.
  • Oversees all business functions for the department including accounts payable and purchasing.
  • Supervises, set schedules, and processes work orders for student move crew
  • Serves as a member of leadership teams and participates in planning and budgeting for the division.
  • Maintain schedules and assignments of staff to ensure proper workflow for Housing Office needs and functions to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of departmental operations.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises staff and student employees.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Master's degree in a related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Three years' relevant experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Formal training and experience in crisis intervention and conflict management.

Required other

  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekend and holiday rotation.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
