General summary

Coordinates the recruitment and yield of high-achieving undergraduate students including promoting, awarding, and notifying all admission-based, undergraduate high school and community college scholarship programs.

Major duties

  • Proposes and develops recruitment and yield initiatives and plans that attract and enroll high-achieving students from high schools and community colleges.
  • Determines scholarship eligibility and manages award amounts. Allocates funds while following stacking rules. Communicates awards to the financial aid office for posting.
  • Manages a recruitment territory. Serves as the primary University liaison for students, families, and high school counselors from that geographic area. Makes admission decisions and advocates for students. Builds and maintains relationships with college counseling colleagues within that territory.
  • Coordinates the training of the Office of Admissions and college recruitment team members about scholarship programs and the awarding process.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises staff and student employees.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Two years' relevant experience.
  • Understanding of college admissions.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with students, co-workers, and the general public.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, parents and community members.

Required other

  • Ability to travel in-state and out-of-state. Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

Desired qualifications

Desired education

  • Master’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Desired experience

  • Three years’ relevant experience.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
