General summary

Oversees business operations within a department. Provides advanced administrative support and oversees administrative functions performed office wide. Oversees budgetary and human resource functions. Manages facility access, safety, and welfare matters.

Major duties

  • Prepares and managers the department’s operations budget analysis in a supporting role.
  • Coordinates with internal units of the University for federal, campus based, institutional funding and scholarship reconciliation.
  • Develops financial business plans to ensure integrity within financial operations.
  • Oversees contracts and negotiations.
  • Provides oversite for administrative functions and strategic planning for department.
  • Oversees and administers human resources functions for the department to ensure compliance with university policies, procedures, applicable laws, regulations, and contractual requirements.
  • Responds to complex and sensitive matters regarding general departmental processes and regulatory guidelines.
  • Supports other related business units.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from and accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Two year’s relevant experience.
  • Budget management including fiscal analyses.
  • Proficient with office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
  • Solid teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting/moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
