General summary

Advises registered student organizations with financial allocations and facilitates orientations. Responsible for managing all department budgets.

Major duties

  • Provides lead budget support for all allocation funding received by the registered student organizations. Prepares and analyzes budget reports for all allocation accounts.
  • Advises, coaches, advocates and instructs committees in budget allocations. Coordinates budget allocation protocols and procedures. Facilitates transfers and maintains relationships across campus in regard to interdepartmental transfers.
  • Provides budget management for all department primary budgets. Prepares and analyzes budget reports. Provides budget recommendations to the Director.
  • Responsible for all department procurement cards, processes University payment forms for both the department and registered student organizations events and programs.
  • Processes all department payroll and travel requests.
  • Facilitates training for all student organizations for orientation.
  • Provides hiring coordination for all departmental positions. Generates all graduate appointment letters and processes all appointment forms in the Human Resource Management System and Student information System.
  • Responsible for ordering all office supplies or other items for any event or programming.
  • Provides lead support and customer service for the department for students and staff.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises student employees.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution

Required experience

  • Two years' relevant experience
  • Supervisory or lead experience.
  • Experience in office management.
  • Experience in budget management.
  • Office software skills, including word-processing, presentations, spreadsheets and databases.

Physical requirements

Light work with some physical demands such as continuously lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds, but rarely moving more than 25 to 50 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
